Early DBS may provide beneficial effects on long-term rest tremor compared to standard medical care

Early deep brain stimulation (DBS) may provide long-term rest tremor benefit for up to 5 years compared to standard medical care, according to a new analysis of a pilot study. Based on these results, the FDA has approved a phase III, pivotal trial of DBS in early-stage PD.
