Sparse long-term efficacy data are available for surgical interventions in epilepsy despite close to a century and a half of treatment history. Recently, physicians from the Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, USA, investigated the long-term efficacy of temporal-lobe surgery for intractable epilepsy.
